Terms and Conditions
These terms outline the conditions that apply to quotations, orders, delivery, and after-sales support from Strahl Optics.
Last updated: October 8, 2026
1. Scope
These terms apply to business-to-business quotations and the supply of optical components by Strahl Optics Co., Ltd. when incorporated into the agreement between Strahl Optics and the customer. The quotation, approved specifications and written order agreement define the requirements for each project. Any inconsistencies between these documents should be resolved in writing before order acceptance. Any project-specific terms expressly agreed in writing by both parties take precedence over these general terms.
2. Quotations and Pricing
Quotations are prepared for the stated specifications, quantity and delivery requirements. Currency, quotation validity, shipping charges and any included taxes or other charges are stated in the quotation. Changes to materials, coatings, tolerances or quantity may require a revised quotation.
3. Orders and Specification Approval
Please provide your purchase order, drawings and relevant optical and mechanical specifications for review. Order acceptance, the approved drawing revision and any outstanding technical details are confirmed in writing. General website specifications describe typical available options and do not replace the specifications approved for an order.
4. Custom Optical Components
Custom components are supplied against the specifications agreed for the project. Please identify the operating wavelength, angle of incidence, environmental conditions and other relevant requirements when requesting a quotation. Any design review, prototype evaluation or application testing included in the project should be defined in the written agreement.
5. Payment
The payment method, currency, payment schedule and allocation of bank charges are agreed in writing for each order. Any deposit or payment required before production or shipment is stated in the quotation or order confirmation. Please contact us to verify any requested change to bank details before transferring funds.
6. Lead Times and Delivery
The estimated lead time and its starting conditions are stated in the quotation or order confirmation. Material availability, specification changes or other production factors may affect the schedule. Any change to an agreed delivery date should be communicated and addressed in writing. Shipping transit time should be considered separately from production lead time.
7. Shipping, Packaging and Import Charges
The delivery location, shipping method, packaging requirements and allocation of freight, insurance, customs duties and import taxes are agreed for each shipment. Where an Incoterms rule is used, the written agreement should identify the rule, named place and edition. Special packaging or documentation requirements should be discussed before order confirmation.
8. Inspection and Supporting Documents
Inspection criteria and any required reports, certificates or material documentation should be agreed before production. Acceptance is assessed against the approved order specifications and agreed inspection methods. Please inspect delivered goods and contact us with the order reference, photographs and relevant measurements if a discrepancy is identified.
9. Quality Claims, Warranty and Returns
Strahl Optics provides a two-year limited warranty from the date of delivery against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, handling and storage. Any different warranty period or conditions for special products will be specified in the quotation or order confirmation before order acceptance.
Customers should inspect products upon receipt and notify Strahl Optics in writing within 30 days of delivery of any shortages, incorrect items, visible damage or specification discrepancies reasonably discoverable during incoming inspection. Hidden defects discovered during the warranty period should be reported promptly after discovery. The 30-day inspection period does not limit warranty claims for hidden defects.
Claims should include the order reference, a description of the issue, photographs and relevant inspection or measurement results. Once a defect covered by the warranty is confirmed, Strahl Optics will arrange repair, rework or replacement, as appropriate. If these measures are not reasonably feasible, a refund or another solution will be agreed in writing.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, cleaning, handling, storage or installation, unauthorized modification, or operation outside the agreed operating conditions.
For incorrect items or products confirmed to have failed to meet the agreed specifications at delivery, Strahl Optics will bear reasonable return and replacement shipping costs agreed in advance. For other confirmed warranty defects arising during use, the customer will bear return shipping costs, and Strahl Optics will bear standard shipping costs for the repaired or replacement products. For non-warranty issues, the customer will bear shipping costs in both directions and any assessment or repair charges agreed in advance.
Customers must contact Strahl Optics before returning any products. The return address, shipping method and allocation of costs must be confirmed in writing before shipment.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Order Changes and Cancellation
Please submit any requested order changes or cancellations in writing. Acceptance will depend on the production stage, materials already committed and work completed. Any resulting charges, refund arrangements or changes to price and delivery schedule must be agreed in writing by both parties.
11. Confidentiality and Project Information
Please identify confidential drawings or project information when submitting an inquiry. Any non-disclosure agreement and permitted sharing with manufacturing, coating or inspection partners should be agreed before confidential information is exchanged. Ownership and permitted use of project drawings, tooling or design work should be defined in the project agreement where relevant.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties, these terms and any sales contract incorporating them shall be governed by the laws of mainland China.
The parties shall first seek to resolve any dispute arising out of or in connection with the contract through good-faith negotiations. If no resolution is reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent People’s Court at the place of Strahl Optics Co., Ltd.’s registered domicile in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China, subject to applicable mandatory jurisdiction rules.
13. Updates and Contact
The published version should display its effective or last-updated date. Changes to this page should not automatically change terms already agreed for an existing order. For questions about a quotation or order, contact sales@strahloptics.com.
