Optical Filters

Dichroic Filters

Custom high-efficiency spectral separation for optical systems

Introduction

Dichroic filters are wavelength-selective optical filters that transmit one spectral region while reflecting another. Their multilayer dielectric structure allows different wavelength bands to be separated or combined within the same optical path, making them particularly useful where spectral routing is required rather than simple wavelength blocking.

Unlike absorptive filters that remove unwanted light, dichroic filters redirect selected wavelengths through controlled reflection and transmission. Their spectral response can be designed around transition wavelength, angle of incidence, and polarization requirements, allowing precise integration into multi-wavelength optical systems.
