What optical components does Strahl Optics supply?
Strahl Optics supplies lenses, prisms, mirrors, optical windows, filters, diffraction gratings, beam splitters and infrared optical components. Our range includes standard and custom options for laser, imaging, communication, and scientific applications. If you cannot find the component you need on our website, please send us your drawing or specifications for review.
How do I request a quotation, and which details should I include?
You can submit an inquiry through our Contact page or email sales@strahloptics.com. Please include your drawing or available specifications, required quantity, and preferred delivery date. Depending on the component, useful details may include the material, dimensions, optical tolerances, operating wavelength, and coating requirements. We will contact you if further information is needed.
When can I expect to receive a quotation?
We typically provide quotations within 1–3 working days after receiving complete specifications. Specialized custom components generally take up to 5 working days. We will notify you if additional review is needed.
Do you have a minimum order quantity (MOQ), and do you accept small-quantity orders?
Small-quantity orders are welcome. There is no single MOQ across our product range: standard items may be available in small quantities, while custom components may require a minimum production batch. The applicable MOQ will be stated in your quotation.
Can you support R&D and prototype projects?
Yes. We can supply optical components for R&D, proof-of-concept testing, and prototype projects based on your drawings or specifications. Sample production can be arranged upon request for your evaluation and approval before proceeding with a larger order.
Can you accommodate high-volume orders?
We welcome high-volume inquiries and review each project to confirm production capacity and a suitable delivery schedule. Where needed, an initial sample can be arranged for approval before batch production.
What lead time should I expect for my order?
Standard components generally have a lead time of around 10 days. Custom components typically require 30–60 days, depending on their complexity. The final lead time and its starting conditions will be confirmed with your order.
Which payment arrangements are available?
We accept payments by T/T (bank transfer), L/C (letter of credit), PayPal and Alipay. L/C acceptance is subject to prior agreement on the order value and credit terms. Payment terms, including any deposit and balance payment requirements, will be specified in the quotation and confirmed before the order is accepted.
How will my order be reviewed and confirmed?
We review your purchase order against our quotation and agreed specifications. Any discrepancies are clarified with you before acceptance, followed by written order confirmation.
Products
Are standard and custom optical components both available?
Yes. We offer standard components with established specifications, as well as custom optics made to your drawings or requirements. Standard products are not necessarily held in stock; availability can be checked when you inquire.
Which substrate materials can you supply?
Available materials include N-BK7 and other optical glasses, fused silica, sapphire, CaF2, MgF2, BaF2, germanium, silicon, ZnSe, and ZnS. If your drawing specifies another material or a particular grade, please include it in your inquiry.
Which dimensions and shapes can be customized?
Customization can include diameter, length, width, thickness, and edge details, with circular, square, rectangular, and other profiles available for suitable components. Please refer to the specification table on the relevant product page for typical available ranges. For sizes or profiles outside those listed, send us your drawing for review.
What levels of dimensional accuracy and surface quality are available?
Typical options are listed in the specification table for each product. These include dimensional tolerances, surface quality, and relevant optical accuracy requirements. Tighter specifications can be reviewed against your drawing rather than assumed to apply across the entire range.
Which optical coating options can I specify?
Options include AR(anti-reflection), metallic reflective, dielectric reflective, beam-splitting, ITO conductive, DLC and spectral filter coatings. Please specify the operating wavelength and target transmission or reflection, together with the angle of incidence and polarization where relevant.
Are components supplied coated or uncoated?
The coating status is stated in the product specifications or quotation. Some components are offered uncoated or with optional coatings, while others require a coating for their intended function. Please check the specified configuration when ordering.
Can a standard component be adapted to my specifications?
Yes. We can produce a custom version of a standard design with revised dimensions, thickness, surface specifications, or coatings. These changes are made during new production; we do not rework finished stock components.
Do you supply components for UV, visible, and infrared applications?
Yes. Our range includes components for UV, visible, and infrared applications, including broadband options. Please refer to the relevant product page for the wavelength range of each component.
How should I choose between a standard part and a custom component?
Choose a standard part when its specifications meet your application needs, especially if it is readily available. Custom optics are appropriate when you need a different geometry, material, optical tolerance, or spectral response. Compare the required performance, lead time, and total cost before deciding.
Service
Which international shipping options can you arrange?
We arrange international shipping through DHL, FedEx, UPS, and other carriers, including postal services and sea freight where appropriate. Shipping charges and estimated transit times are provided according to your destination and preferred service.
How do you protect optical components during shipping?
Components are protected with suitable inner packaging and cushioning materials, using corrugated cartons or wooden crates for larger items. Specific packaging or labeling requirements can be discussed before ordering.
Is expedited delivery possible for urgent orders?
Expedited delivery may be available for selected orders. Please tell us your required arrival date when inquiring, and we will check whether production and shipping can be accelerated. Any additional charges will be advised in advance.
Can shipments be billed to my courier account?
Yes. We can arrange shipments with freight charges billed to your DHL, FedEx, or UPS account. Please provide your account details and shipping instructions before dispatch.
Can I request inspection reports and pre-shipment photos?
Yes. Inspection reports and pre-shipment photos of the components and packaging are available upon request. Please specify the required measurements and documentation when ordering so these can be arranged in advance.
How are confidential drawings handled, and can an NDA be arranged?
We can sign a mutually agreed NDA before receiving sensitive information. Drawings and specifications are shared only as needed for your project, with confidentiality requirements also applied to manufacturing and inspection partners.
Can sample approval be arranged before a production batch?
Yes. A sample approval stage can be included before batch production. Sample costs, acceptance criteria, and the timing of the remaining batch are agreed in advance.
What warranty coverage and after-sales assistance are available?
Our standard warranty period is two years from the date of delivery to the customer, except for special products with separately agreed terms.
